<strong>June</strong> <strong>22</strong>-<strong>23</strong>, <strong>2004</strong> 29139LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENTThe Law Enforcement Services Agreement is required by State statutes to beapproved by the Board <strong>of</strong> Regents in order to execute an agreement between the Commissioner<strong>of</strong> Public Safety and Rogers State University. The agreement will authorize the University toemploy <strong>of</strong>f-duty highway patrol troopers as part-time employees <strong>of</strong> the University’s CampusPolice Department. President Wiley recommends approval <strong>of</strong> the agreement to comply withState statutes and to continue the protection and safety <strong>of</strong> students, faculty, staff, visitors andproperty <strong>of</strong> the Campus.Legal Counsel has reviewed and approved the agreement, presented at the meetingand attached hereto as Exhibit A.President Wiley recommended the Board <strong>of</strong> Regents approve the Law EnforcementServices Agreement between the Commissioner <strong>of</strong> Public Safety and the Board <strong>of</strong> Regents onbehalf <strong>of</strong> Rogers State University.Regent Stuart moved approval <strong>of</strong> the recommendation. The following voted yes onthe motion: Regents Everest, Clark, Stuart, Weitzenh<strong>of</strong>fer and Wade. The Chair declared themotion unanimously approved.GREEK ORGANIZATION COLONIZATIONIn the Fall <strong>of</strong> 2003, a student-led campus organization, the Greek ExpansionCommittee, formed and began the process <strong>of</strong> exploring the feasibility <strong>of</strong> establishing fraternitiesand sororities on the Rogers State University campus. This committee coordinated efforts withthe RSU Student Government Association and the Office <strong>of</strong> Student Affairs.In the spring <strong>of</strong> <strong>2004</strong>, the Greek Expansion Committee invited various fraternities andsororities to visit the RSU campus and conduct presentations to the student body. The invitedorganizations were <strong>of</strong>ficially recognized fraternities and sororities by the National PanhellenicConference and National Interfraternity Council. Upon the conclusion <strong>of</strong> the presentations, theGreek Expansion Committee met and recommended their top choices for the groups to invite forfall <strong>2004</strong> establishment.The desire <strong>of</strong> the Greek Expansion Committee is for the further development andenhancement <strong>of</strong> student life and student organizations on Campus. The students acknowledgethe significant contributions that an established Greek community can bring to Rogers StateUniversity.President Wiley recommended the Board <strong>of</strong> Regents approve Rogers State Universityexpansion for Greek organizations beginning in Fall <strong>2004</strong>.Regent Everest moved approval <strong>of</strong> the recommendation. The following voted yes onthe motion: Regents Everest, Clark, Stuart, Weitzenh<strong>of</strong>fer and Wade. The Chair declared themotion unanimously approved.
