Of those<strong>LM</strong> rails, the one marked with "KB" after theserial number is the master <strong>LM</strong> rail. The <strong>LM</strong>block on the master <strong>LM</strong> rail has its referencesurface finished to a designated accuracy,allowing it to serve as the positioning referencefor the table. (See Fig.20.)<strong>LM</strong> <strong>Guide</strong>s of normal grade are not marked with"KB." Therefore, any one of the <strong>LM</strong> rails havingthe same serial number can be used as themaster <strong>LM</strong> rail.[Markings on the Reference Surface]In the <strong>LM</strong> <strong>Guide</strong>, the reference surface of the<strong>LM</strong> block is opposite the surface marked withthe <strong>THK</strong> logo, and that of the <strong>LM</strong> rail is on thesurface marked with a line (see Fig.21).
