Governors have not beeninvolved in discussions about pupil premium spending to enable them to check on progress.They are involved in discussions relating to the management of teachers’ performance,including pay awards to reward staff. However, there has been too little attention given tochecking that systems for monitoring teaching quality and students’ progress are robust.
