To answer theneed for more energy for the mega city of Karachi, Water and PowerDevelopment Authority (WAPDA) and National Transmission andDispatch Company (NTDC) conceived NTDC-KESC InterconnectionProject situated at about 30KM from Karachi. Siemens was awardedthis turnkey contract in August 2004.We provide equipment& substations for powertransmission &distribution systems.The growing energyneeds of megacities area special focus for ourunit which can addressthese constantlyincreasingrequirements byproviding state of theart equipments andservices. BU HSS is alsoa major player in Dubaiand has significantlycontributed in itsinfrastructuredevelopment.The growing demand for energy is a global mega trend. To answer the need for more energy for the megacity of Karachi, WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority) and National Transmission and DispatchCompany (NTDC) conceived NTDC-KESC Interconnection Project situated at about 30KM from Karachi. Byvirtue of this project power supply from Hub power plant which was previously being fed to NTDC Networkat Jamshoro has now been hooked up directly to Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) Network.Siemens was awarded this turnkey contract in August 2004. The project was successfully commissionedin December 2006. Since then it is operating satisfactorily.On March 31, 2007 Siemens Pakistan successfully commissioned 500/220/132kV Yousafwala Sahiwal gridstation. It is for the first time that turnkey project of 500kV air insulated substation been executed bySiemens Pakistan in consortium with Siemens AG wherein the major responsibility of project managementand engineering was with Siemens Pakistan.Answer to Karachi'sgrowing demand forenergy. With urbanization and demographicchanges taking place we are well equipped to meet thedemands of a growing power industry in the country.Business Unit Transformers enhanced their manufacturing facility up to 220kV/250MVA. The expansion that wasinitiated two years ago completed with the installation of latest production machines and test field equipmentsthat will ensure reliable products of high quality.Our product portfolio meets the demand of all applications of Power and Distribution transformers in Pakistanwhich is growing due to mega trends being witnessed by the country. We have successfully met the demands oftransformers in the local market. Due to certain local conditions the demand of Distribution Transformers hasslowed down. However, due to shortage of power in the country the demand for Power Transformers remains highand is expected to remain so in coming years.We are successful in maintaining our role as a technology trend setter providing innovative solutions by providingspecial design transformers for utilities and industrial sectors and thus maintaining market leadership. We havebeen successful in providing customer oriented, cost effective and environmental friendly solutions at various stagesof installation, commissioning and after sales services of Power and Distribution Transformers. With urbanizationand demographic changes taking place we are well equipped to meet the demands of a growing power industry inthe country.We are center for excellencefor Distributionand PowerTransformers inPakistan serving theentire local market aswell as catering to theneeds of neighboringcountries. We are ideallyplaced to fill thegrowing requirementsfor transformers inpresent and futuremegacities of thecountry.Our main local customers are WAPDA, KESC and industries. We contribute significantly in village electrificationand system rehabilitation program of Government of Pakistan and utilities by supplying Power and Distributiontransformers as per requirement of DISCOs/KESC. We have been constantly working for the transfer of technologythrough Siemens based on their worldwide experience, enhancing know how and skills of our workforce. We arefully integrated in the house of Siemens transformer network which provides a standard platform for engineeringand design, CIP and R&D activities in Distribution and Power Transformers.New 220kV PowerTransformer factorybeing inaugurated hereby Governor Sindh willanswer the requirementsfor locallymanufactured productsfor the power industry.
