4.4 Family <strong>Membership</strong>ASCOT KAYAK CLUBBy-Law: <strong>Membership</strong> Subscription, Fees <strong>and</strong> Charges[under the AKC <strong>Club</strong> Constitution]A Family is defined as one or two adults, <strong>and</strong> one or more related children (to one orboth adults) 18 years of age or younger (as at January), living at the same address.Each member of the Family <strong>Membership</strong> is entitled to the same benefits as the individualmembership categories under which they relate to.Note: The CWA family fee is a fixed rate ($220.00). The table at Appendix 1 has beendone to reflect the cheapest payment options for a family. Some of the cost optionsmay be based on individual membership rates (e.g. 1 adult <strong>and</strong> 1 child) as this will bemore cost effective for the family.Concessions are not applicable for Family <strong>Membership</strong>s. Refer to Appendix 1 of this Bylawfor applicable <strong>subscription</strong> fees.4.5 Triallist MembersThe <strong>Club</strong> offers a number of training courses for non club members to introduce them tothe sport. Participants of the courses are recognised as Triallist Members.No Triallist Member is entitled to a club key. Access to the <strong>Club</strong> facilities <strong>and</strong> equipmentfor Triallist Members is the responsibility of the Course Leader. If a Junior Member has aparent or guardian who is an Ordinary Member or Volunteer Member, they can takeresponsibility for the Junior Event Member.The Courses where Triallist <strong>Membership</strong> applies includes:• Introduction Course (for persons aged 17 years <strong>and</strong> over) - the Triallist<strong>Membership</strong> for the Introduction Course is for the month in which they areenrolled in the course• Guppy Course (for Juniors 9 to 14 years old) - the Triallist <strong>Membership</strong> for theseCourses is for a three week trial period.• Junior Intermediate courses (for 12 to 18 years old) - the Triallist <strong>Membership</strong>for these Courses is for a three week trial period.• Junior Slalom (for 10 to 18 years old) - the Triallist <strong>Membership</strong> for theseCourses is for a three week trial period.4.5.1 Conversion of Event <strong>Membership</strong> to Ordinary or Junior <strong>Membership</strong>On completion of the Triallist <strong>Membership</strong> Period, <strong>and</strong> where the Triallist Member wishesto continue activities in the club, they must become a full member (i.e. Ordinary orJunior Member).If a Triallist Member converts their membership to an Ordinary or Junior Member at thebeginning or during the course, the date of the commencement of the Ordinary orJunior membership will be taken as being from the date of the course commencement.If the Triallist <strong>Membership</strong> was for participating in the Introductory Course, a percentageof the course fee will be credited towards the Ordinary or Junior <strong>Membership</strong><strong>subscription</strong>.Effective Date: 19 September 2010

If the Triallist <strong>Membership</strong> was for participatingin the Introductory Course, <strong>and</strong> the person joins within two months of completing theIntroductory Course, a percentage of the course fee will be credited towards theOrdinary or Junior <strong>Membership</strong> <strong>subscription</strong>.4.6 Visitor <strong>Membership</strong> with Rights to use of a <strong>Club</strong> BoatRefer to Section 7 of By-Law: <strong>Club</strong> Boat Use.The person must pay full <strong>Membership</strong> <strong>subscription</strong> (pro-rata fees do not apply), <strong>and</strong>Security Key Deposit, as well as a $500.00 bond which provides Rights to a specific <strong>Club</strong>Boat. The bond will be reimbursed if the Boat is returned in a state equivalent to itscondition at the time Rights were allocated.5 Boat Rack Storage FeesBoat storage fee is for the storage of boats at the AKC Member’s boat shed at the AKCfacilities, Garvey Park, <strong>Ascot</strong>.
