We have to report that the totaldonations to the German fund amountedto $126.54. The total receipts on accountof the Swedish fund amounted to$360.14.We published nothing in German, thefund being insufficient for even a start,but, growing gradually, it may be of usesome day; meanwhile, we have obtainedthe addresses of some, able and willing toassist, by translating, when we are ready.In Swedish we published four numbersof the same size as the English TOWER,containing selected articles--translationsfrom English numbers. Many amongthe Swedes were deeply moved by thetruth, and we regret that the number ofsuch (about 800) would not justify atpresent the regular publication of theTOWER in that language. However, thetruth is spreading among them, and itmay not be long before this will be practicableand possible. The total amountexpended on this account was $744.16,or $384.02 more than the receipts onaccount of the same.Aside from the mailing of severalthousand copies of "Food for ThinkingChristians," etc., already published andaccounted for, we published, paid forand distributed, since last report:--39,000 Swedish Missionary papers and79,000 English " "-------118,000 in all; equal to about four anda half millions of tract pagesof the ordinary size.Those who have assisted in the work,both by donations and in circulating--bygiving and loaning literature to thosesupposed to have an "ear to hear," aretoo numerous to mention. It is onesource of great encouragement to us tonote the holy and pure zeal which inspiresso many to labor and sacrifice togive to others, so soon as they taste ofthe "good word of God" themselves.
