We have already marked thecompleted revolution of several greatdispensational periods, and now realizethat we are in the ending of another andjust approaching the dawn of the day ofChrist, whose blessed reign shall wipe outthe last vestige of evil and usher in theuniversal jubilee.As we study these great revolutionsin their minor details, we discover theprinciples and causes of their movements.We see that the first dispensationunder the ministration of angels,completed its revolution at the time ofthe flood, proving the inability of angelicpower to rescue man; we see thelaw dispensation closing at the first adventof Christ, proving the inability ofR717 : page 6man to save himself by obedience to thelaw; now we see also the gospel dispensationending, completing the selectionof God's anointed priest who alonecan accomplish the great work. Atthe same time we see the dominion ofevil completing its course. In all thesegreat and the many minor movementsof the various agencies of God's planwhich have been brought to our attention,we see the one central and unchangeablepurpose of God--the final,permanent establishment of righteousness,peace and everlasting bliss on abasis which recognizes the freedom ofthe individual will, yet by the tendercord of love links that will indissolublyto the divine will as the onlycondition of everlasting life and favor.Seeing thus the grandeur of the workto be accomplished through our LordJesus, and the high honor bestowedupon him by the Father, we are enabledto estimate, to some extent, the exceedinggreat and precious promises made TO
