Entry-level Section• No parking is permitted at the red curbs or in handicapped or visitor spots (unless you havethe necessary designation)• No double-parking is permitted• Excessive speed in the parking lot is prohibited• All automobiles must be locked while on <strong>University</strong> property• All stop signs are to be observedBecause <strong>of</strong> city ordinances and traffic plans, alternative transportation is encouraged. These optionsinclude:• Car-pooling is strongly encouraged whenever possible. To encourage this activity, premiumparking spots between the two buildings are reserved <strong>for</strong> registered carpoolers. Registration<strong>for</strong> car pooling will be announced and a special sticker must be displayed on all vehicles usedon-campus. Car pool groups must re-register at the beginning <strong>of</strong> each term with theuniversity receptionist.• Bike to school: Bike racks are available <strong>for</strong> individuals biking to school. Always secure yourbike with an appropriately applied chain and lock• Public Transportation: North County Transit <strong>of</strong>fers a public transportation system called theSprinter. The closest station to the campus is: San Marcos Civic Center <strong>St</strong>ation (#12). It isabout a ¾ mile from this station to the campus. There are currently no public bus options tothe campus. <strong>St</strong>udents can ride the sprinter and bike/walk to the campus. For morein<strong>for</strong>mation about light rail, visit: http://www.gonctd.com/sprinter_stations.htm.• Watch <strong>for</strong> special bulletins on the Transportation bulletin board in the <strong>St</strong>udent Lounge Area.In<strong>for</strong>mation will be posted regarding sprinter schedules, ticket purchasing, and car poolopportunities.Texas campus: <strong>St</strong>udents are permitted to park in any <strong>of</strong> the parking spots on the perimeter <strong>of</strong> the twobuildings, excluding designated visitor, handicapped, or carpool spots (unless the appropriate parkingpermit is displayed). All students complete a parking registration <strong>for</strong>m at registration and must keepthis in<strong>for</strong>mation up-to-date with the <strong>St</strong>udent Services Office. All cars must have a university parkingsticker and it must be displayed at all times. All <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Augustine</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Sciences</strong>students are responsible <strong>for</strong> any parking tickets received <strong>for</strong> improperly parking on the street. Anystudents who are parked in unapproved spots in the parking lot will be issued a parking citation <strong>of</strong>$25.00 by the <strong>University</strong>. The parking citation money will go to the respective student organization.Additional provisions <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong> parking policy are:• No parking is permitted at any time along the curbs <strong>of</strong> the student parking lot.• No parking is permitted in handicapped or visitor spots without the appropriate designation.• <strong>St</strong>udents should not park on the streets surrounding the campus. It is important to beconsiderate and avoid causing problems <strong>for</strong> surrounding neighborhoods and business.• No parking is permitted behind construction areas.• No double-parking is permitted.• Excessive speed in the student parking lot or in accessing <strong>University</strong> roadways is prohibited.• All automobiles must be locked while on <strong>University</strong> property.• All stop signs are to be observed.FLEX/MOPA students Florida campus: Flex and MOPA students follow the same parking policy asentry-level student and may use the permanent <strong>University</strong> student parking lot.
