Entry-level SectionTuition Refund Policy <strong>for</strong> Florida and Cali<strong>for</strong>nia CampusesThis refund policy follows the standards set out by the Accrediting Commission <strong>of</strong> the DistanceEducation and Training Council, and additionally <strong>for</strong> the Cali<strong>for</strong>nia campus, the Bureau <strong>for</strong> Private andPost-Secondary Education (Cali<strong>for</strong>nia).If notification to withdraw from the <strong>University</strong> is submitted within the one (1) week (seven-day graceperiod) <strong>of</strong> acceptance and submission <strong>of</strong> the tuition deposit, a full refund <strong>of</strong> the tuition deposit will bereturned to the student.A partial refund <strong>of</strong> the deposit will be given if a student provides notification to withdraw from the<strong>University</strong> up to 60 days prior to the start <strong>of</strong> the trimester courses and after the initial seven-day graceperiod. This partial refund will be $300 <strong>for</strong> the Florida campus and $400 <strong>for</strong> the Cali<strong>for</strong>nia campus. Theuniversity retains $200 as an administrative fee on the Florida campus and $100 on the Cali<strong>for</strong>niacampus.If a student submits notification to withdraw from a course (or the program) after the stated term startdate, the following <strong>for</strong>mula will be used to determine the tuition refund.Published Length <strong>of</strong> CourseRefundable Tuition Due After11-15 weeks 1st week = 80%2nd week = 70%3rd week = 60%4th week = 50%5th week = 40%6th week = 30%7th week = 20%8th week = 10%9th week = 0%Trimester fees, sales tax and <strong>St</strong>udent Activity Fee are 100% refundable if said notification is received upto eight (8) weeks after the first day <strong>of</strong> a trimester. There is a $200 administrative fee <strong>for</strong> all course ortrimester withdrawals on the Florida campus and a $100 administrative fee <strong>for</strong> all course and trimesterwithdrawals on the Cali<strong>for</strong>nia campus.If notification to withdraw is received after the eighth week, there will be no refund <strong>of</strong> tuition.For students who receive federal financial aid and who withdraw from a course on or be<strong>for</strong>e 60% <strong>of</strong> theterm has elapsed, USA will calculate according to federal regulations, any disbursed amounts that must bereturned to the Title IV programs.If a student obtains a loan to pay <strong>for</strong> an educational program, the student will have the responsibility torepay the full amount <strong>of</strong> the loan plus interest, less the amount <strong>of</strong> any refund, and that, if the student hasreceived federal student financial aid funds, the student is entitled to a refund <strong>of</strong> the moneys not paid fromfederal student financial aid program funds.Tuition Refund Policy-Texas CampusThis refund policy follows the standards set out by the Accrediting Commission <strong>of</strong> the DistanceEducation and Training Council and the Texas Work<strong>for</strong>ce Commission. In all cases, refunds will meet orexceed the requirements <strong>of</strong> TEC, §§132.061 and 0611.1. Refund computations will be based on scheduled clock hours <strong>of</strong> class attendance through the lastdate <strong>of</strong> attendance. Leaves <strong>of</strong> absence, suspensions, and school holidays will not be counted aspart <strong>of</strong> the scheduled class attendance.2. The effective date <strong>of</strong> termination <strong>for</strong> refund purposes will be the earliest <strong>of</strong> the following:(a) The last day <strong>of</strong> attendance, if the student is terminated by the school;(b) The date <strong>of</strong> receipt <strong>of</strong> written notice from the student; or<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Augustine</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Sciences</strong> 58
