Transitional Doctor <strong>of</strong> Physical Therapy• Coordinating a weekly meeting <strong>of</strong> journal club, case presentations and article review• Providing other mentors to assist the resident in achieving objectives• Meeting with the resident once each month to review and revise the resident’s objectives• Providing critique and guidance to the resident <strong>for</strong> the development and submission <strong>of</strong> casereports and poster/plat<strong>for</strong>m presentation• Conducting a weekly review and signing <strong>of</strong> the residency journal• Assisting or providing guidance in the development <strong>of</strong> effective communication with the physicaltherapy staff, other health pr<strong>of</strong>essionals and community at large• Identifying the resident’s success or lack <strong>of</strong> success in maintaining responsibility <strong>of</strong> achievingobjectives• Evaluating the resident’s skill level and reporting the results to the <strong>University</strong> at least once pertrimesterYour Financial Arrangements with the SiteThe financial arrangement between you, the residency site, and mentor is a matter <strong>of</strong> agreement betweenthose three entities. The <strong>University</strong> will not be a party to the negotiation nor will have any financialarrangement with the site or mentor. We hope that the site, which may discount the normal salaryexchange <strong>for</strong> mentoring time, will be generous with their time.Registering <strong>for</strong> Clinical ResidencyIf you are electing to complete a Clinical Residency in lieu <strong>of</strong> the Capstone Project, it is important tocontact the <strong>University</strong> as soon as possible to plan and discuss your Clinical Residency. The programdirector will assist you in completing the appropriate <strong>for</strong>ms and planning your educational requirements.For further in<strong>for</strong>mation, contact the Transitional DPT Program Director.DEGREE COMPLETIONOnce all <strong>of</strong> your coursework and assignments have been completed, you will be in a position to submityour paper work and request graduation. For graduation to take place you must have:All fees and tuition paid in full including:• the appropriate graduation fee• all coursework completed and graded to meet the degree requirements• a minimum overall GPA <strong>of</strong> 2.25 or 2.50 <strong>for</strong> students accepted into the program after January 1,<strong>2012</strong>Send the graduation application and graduation fee to the Transitional DPT Office. Refer to the latestAcademic Calendar to identify the due date <strong>for</strong> applications <strong>for</strong> the upcoming graduation.The Transitional DPT <strong>St</strong>aff will per<strong>for</strong>m a degree audit to verify completion <strong>of</strong> the minimum number <strong>of</strong>credits and the financial <strong>of</strong>fice will assure that all fiscal obligations to the <strong>University</strong> or its subsidiarieshave been met in full.You have the option <strong>of</strong> attending one <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong>’s Commencement Ceremonies held three (3) timesa year on the Florida campus – April, August and December.
