135Campus Evacuation Proceduresschedule OF CLASSESOccupants of all buildings within designated zone“Building Evacuation Assembly Area”within the zone.will assemble at designatedEmergenciesFire1. If you smell smoke or see fire, activatethe nearest fire alarm pull box. Call thecampus sheriff, extension 8800 [outsidetelephone (323) 265-8800]. If you are unableto contact the sheriff, call 911.2. When you hear the fire alarm, proceedin an orderly fashion to the designatedbuilding evacuation assembly area. Thelast person to leave the room shouldclose the door.3. At the assembly area, wait for furtherinstructions from a faculty member oradministrator.Earthquake1. At first sign of shaking, get away from anypotential falling objects. Try to get under atable or desk.2. Do not run outside. If you are in a multistorybuilding do not use the elevator.3. If you are aware of any gas lines or heatersin the area, attempt to shut off thegas line or heater.4. Wait for a faculty member or administratorto give further instructions.Power Outage1. Try to stay where you are and do not attemptto restore power.2. Notify plant facilities, extension 8756[outside telephone (323) 265-8756].3. Wait for the power to come back on orfor information/ instruction from plantfacilities or an administrator to ascertainthe probably length of the outage and tobe advised of what to do next.Evacuation1. If you hear the alarm, proceed in anorderly fashion to the nearest exit andassemble at the designated buildingevacuation assembly area..2.
