Section 2: UnitsAssessment MethodsPlease note that the following assessment methods can be applied across knowledge onlyassessment criteria and the optional task devised by CACHE is an example of one suchmethod.• Direct observation• Professional discussion• Expert Witness evidence• Learner’s own work products• Learner log or reflective diary• Activity plan or planned activity• Observation of children, young people or adults by the learner• Portfolio of evidence• Recognition of Prior Learning to evidence a full unit• Reflection on own practice in real work environment• Written and pictorial information• Scenario or case study• Task set by CACHE (for knowledge learning outcomes)• Oral questions and answers• Non-compulsory assessment method devised by centre and approved by CACHE.© CACHE 2013 Version 5.0 16
