There are no significant differentials in the mean number of methods known bybackground characteristics, except that, on average, very young married women know fewer methods andwomen with more education know more methods. The high level of knowledge found in every sub-groupindicates the success of efforts to disseminate contraceptive information to all eligible couples. However, there is still scope to increase the amount of information that is known about specific methods ofcontraception.4.2 Ever Use of Family PlanningAll women interviewed in the B DHS who said that they had heard of a method of family planning wereasked if they had ever used used it. Ever use of family planning methods thus refers to use of a method atany time without making a distinction between past and current use. Collection and analysis of ever-use data41
