RUX-ALU-RASANTIn the use of weather protection systems, as in allother matters, two basic principles must be considered:safety and efficiency. In the development of this system, we have set ourselves the goal of providing a system that is “easy toassemble”. That we have been successful in achievingthis goal has been confirmed by positive feedbackfrom our customers, as well as our own experience. With just a few basic elements, the individual roofsegments are pre-assembled at ground level. Thereforeall components are designed for optimal handlingas a matter of course.4For example, by using wedge couplers for thereinforcement frames, or aluminium for the cassetteelements, which are up to 35% lighter than conventionalroof elements. Such attributes are designed tolighten the load for your workers and increase theirefficiency.

Weather protection systems have two main functions. On the one hand, they are to protect the building underconstruction against the effects of the weather. On theother hand, they must ensure that construction work cancontinue in spite of bad weather or during the wintermonths. The RUX-ALU-RASANT cassette system has proveditself in many practical applications. Historic build ings, motorway bridges and industrial buildings are just a fewexamples which demonstrate the diversity of applications.Often span widths of up to 40 m have been covered.6In the course of many years, we have also quite frequentlyincorporated suggestions from our customers in thefurther development of our products. This has led to thecreation of many practical accessories which facilitatedaily work with a system matured to perfection.

7RUX-ALU-RASANT – the advantages in brief:• span widths of up to 40 m• up to 35 % lighter cassette elements compared to conventional systems• formwork girders up to a height of 1.0 m to ensure high impact resistance and load capacity• extensive range of accessories

GOOD PLANINGOur extensive range of tarpaulins and netting standsout by its diversity. In the course of recent years, therehave been a great number of new developments andimprovements in this area also (see info box on theright).Proven standards IScaffolding tarpaulins are favourably priced, quickly assembled and effective.8This also applies to scaffolding safety nets. Both these products are indispensable, integratedparts of the equipment of scaffoldingcompanies for the protection of persons, materials and buildings.

Proven standards IILatticed tarpaulins are a classic amongweather protection systems. They have beena familiar sight on building sites for manydecades, whether on facades, on industrialbuildings or in off-shore applications. Thanks to the price/performance ratioinvolved, there is no end in sight to theirsuccess story.9Optimal protection for every projectWe offer a wide range of different tarpaulins for a great varietyof applications. For example, reinforced scaffolding tarpaulins are available tocope with extreme wind loads. They are equipped with additionalstraps punched with holes to provide more attachment points.Flame-resistant scaffolding tarpaulins are recommended forwelding projects and other work involving unshielded flames.Protective nets are generally used wherever fresh air circulationis required. Our range also includes roof and safety nets for operator protection.A range of different dimensions and mesh sizes ensures thatscafom-rux can always supply the right safety net for everyproject.

WEATHER-STRIP SYSTEMS ANDA typical further development in the field of weather protection systems is theweather-strip system. Wherever conventional protective tarpaulins are not sufficientto meet all requirements, weather-strip tarpaulins can be used. With this system, virtually air-tight enclosure of buildings is possible.Weather-strip tarpaulins are often combined with the RUX-ALU-RASANT cassettesystem. Thanks to their versatility, weather-strip tarpaulins can be mounted on anytype of scaffolding system. Of course our weather-strip tarpaulins are also availablein a flame-resistant version.10

Almost as easy as wrapping a cake!Environmental regulations, new building techniquesor sensitive surfaces on buildings often require totalsealing of the building site. This is virtually impossiblewith conventional tarpaulins or other weatherprotection systems, since scaffolds with brackets, protruding rocker pins, anchoring devices and cornersgenerally present an uneven surface.11Shrink film is very adaptable! The adaptability of shrink film is amazing. There areno fixed grid dimensions, no defined form, no specialsolutions, no corners, in short, there is virtually nothingto restrict the use of shrink film.Mounting is possible with next to no effort, very fewaccessories and tools and without great technicalskill. The film is simply placed on top of the scaffold, then seamlessly welded together just by applyingheat.Shrink film – closing the gaps in the scafomruxweather protection systemShrink film is a very practical means of applying thefinishing touch to other scafom-rux weather protectionsystems. Whenever a system reaches its technicallimits and proves unable to close the last gap, shrinkfilm provides an effective answer to the problem. The application of shrink film isamazingly simple:Wrap the film round the scaffold, then heat the overlapping portionof film with the burner to make itadhesive. To initiate the shrinking process, move the burner across the bays. This will cause the film to shrinkand form an airtight enclosure. In case any part of the film isdamaged, simply cover it up bywelding on a new piece. That’s all.

WEATHER PROTECTION TRANSOM12Weather protection transoms have been developed toprotect buildings, scaffolds and people working onthem against the effects of bad weather from above.Combined with weather-strip tarpaulins or simplescaffolding tarpaulins, they provide an ideal solution.Their main advantage is that they protect the topmostparts of scaffolds covered by tarpaulins and thus closethe gap invariably formed by their projection from thewall.Flexible in every respect and suitable for everyscaffoldWeather protection transoms can be connected to everyvertical tube. Neither the bay length, nor the width ofthe scaffold, with or without logical spacing, nor theprojection - none of these factors have any effect onthe compatibility of this sophisticated scaffoldingelement.
