A coil spring inthe receptacle provides low shell-to-shell resistance and consistent de-mate releaseforce. Choose front mount or rear mount jam nut styles.Series 805 FilteredreceptaclesPage J-12Series 805 Filtered Receptacles with Triple-Start ACMEThreadsSeries 805 connectors offer performance comparable to MIL-DTL-38999but with reduced size and weight. Mating plugs feature a ground springand ratcheting self-locking mechanism.About EMP, ESD and Transient Voltage SuppressionElectromagnetic Pulse (EMP) refers to theintense radio frequency pulses produced bynuclear explosions at high altitudes. Othernames for this phenomenon are NuclearEMP (NEMP), and High-Altitude EMP(HEMP). Like other forms of electromagneticinterference, EMP can have a destructiveeffect on sensitive electronic devices, particularly those used in mission-criticalmilitary applications. This occurs if andwhen the EMP grounds to an antenna or anunshielded cable and passes unmolestedinto an electronic device.Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) is the suddenflow of electric current caused by staticelectricity and electrostatic induction.Semiconductors can be damaged by ESD.Transient Voltage Suppression ( T VS)technologies are designed to shunt voltagetransients directly to ground before suchGlenair connector subassembly withdiodes to shunt excessive voltages toground.surges can damage sensitive electronicequipment. Individual TVS diodes as wellas diode modules may be incorporateddirectly into the filter connector packageto provide optimal protection for eitherindividual contacts or groups of contactswithout significant increases in connectorsize or weight.Individual circuit protection diodesand diode modules are available for allconnector types and are routinely stockedby Glenair to reduce lead-times. Individualdiodes and modules may be screenedand tested prior to assembly to ensurereliable performance. Field maintenanceand repair of damaged diodes is alsopossible as both individual diodes anddiode modules are easily removed fromthe connector package.RTCA DO-160 and other electricalper formance standards now defineacceptable benchmarks for withstandingelectromagnetic pulse, lightning strike,or other induced voltage surges in highreliabilitysystems. Glenair designs all TVSequipped filter connectors to conform tothe RTCA DO-160 standard.
