Trend-Setting TechnologyHWE61 Switch & ControlPoint-Setting Systems for Container Terminals

The Point-Setting SystemHWE61 Switch & Control:Demanding Requirements –Competent SolutionsTechnical equipment deployed in container terminals is exposed toextreme conditions. Engineers and operators all over the world are convincedby the legendary stability of HANNING & KAHL point machines. For special requirements: all components, including the point controllerand signals, are embedded in the ground and can be crossed by heavyroad traffic. Embedded installation ensures free transportation routesand prevents vandalism and unauthorized activation. The heart of the unit is the proven HANNING & KAHL point machine ofthe 61 series with electro-hydraulic drive and integrated point controller. To start the point setting procedure, the point controller is activated viaa foot actuator. The resulting point position is signalled by two LED indicatorlamps.

The point-setting system Switch & ControlHWE61 consists of several components with thefollowing features:Point machine 61 series– for mounting between or beside the rails– patented in-lying locking system– earthcase can be driven over – designed forheavy wheel loads– trailable version- water-resistant NEMA 6P (IP68)Earthcase with foot actuator, pointposition indicators and integratedpoint controller– robust foot actuator for electric activation ofthe point– 2 point position indicators mounted in thecover- can be driven over --- designed for heavywheel loads– water-resistant NEMA 6P (IP68)- optimised electric construction with standardcontrol concept- easy access and clear arrangement of componentsdesign allows branch-off to the right or theleft.Advantage> Makes planning and logisticseasierAdvantage> Faster installationPoint machine – directly between thepoint tonguesThe point machine is installed directly betweenthe point tongues. Force is transferred withoutloss; there is no need for direction change orcranking of drive rods. The point machine isequipped with a unique trailable lockingsystem. A tongue detector can be installed asan option.Advantage> Direct wear-free force transmissionAdvantage> Patented trailable locking systemElectro-hydraulic – gentle to the pointDamping valves on the electro-hydraulic driveof the HWE61 ensure that the point reach endposition gently and quietly. The hydraulic unitis robust, powerful and provides maximumavailability.Advantage> Lower wearAdvantage> Optimum performanceRough operations –protected installationsThe HWE61 Switch & Control system wasdeveloped for extraordinary requirements incontainer terminals. Point machine, controllerand signals are especially qualified for justsuch applications. Wind and water, frost andextreme heat pose no danger. The system canalso be driven over without restriction.Advantage> Proper function even under extremeweather conditionsAdvantage> Extremely robustAdvantage> Water-resistant designPoint machine of the 61 series in earthcaseFoot actuator, point positionindicator and integrated pointcontroller in earthcaseStrong components, perfect harmonyPoint machine and point controller are perfectlyco-ordinated. The HWE61 Switch & Controlcan be deployed in individual points or incrossover applications. The system is activatedwith a robust foot actuator; setting commandsare not issued by road vehicles. The systemcan also be remote-controlled from a localcontrol panel or control centre (option).Advantage> Safe activationAdvantage> Flexible controlRight and Left point = ONE systemIn single point and crossover applications, theinstallation position of the HWE61 Switch &Control can be decided on location.
