ALUMINATOR FCFull Contact Floating RoofThe ALUMINATOR FC Full Contact Floating Roofis a new approach to solving emissionproblems from aboveground storage tanks. The ALUMINATOR FC roof is completely vaportight per API 19.2.The roof is composed of lightweight individualpanel modules assembled to form acompletely sealed full contact floating roof. Each individual panel is a self containedflotation compartment. The completeassembled structure is extremely strong, stable, and safe for personnel access and compliesentirely with the design requirements of API650, Appendix H.Structural strength of the roof is providedthrough mechanical fastening of the undersideof the panels, not through welding. Completesealing in accordance with API 19.2 is providedthrough welding of the top seams. Eachfactory assembled panel module is tested inthe shop to insure vapor tightness. The mainpanels are sized for easy handling in the field, with special panels made around the perimeterso that the completed structure fits any tankdiameter. The bottom side of the roof is in completecontact with the product and the top side is adeck for foot and operator traffic. Panels arespecially designed for easy assembly andwelding in the field. Proprietary weldingtechniques are used to seal weld the seamsbetween the assembled panels. Uponcompletion of the welding, the seal welds arevacuum box tested to insure vapor tightness.HMT provides fully factory trained weldingpersonnel equipped to perform the fieldwelding for each installation.Full contact roofs prevent vapor buildup underthe roof, greatly reducing emissions. As theALUMINATOR FC is totally seam welded, novapors, even in small amounts, can escapethrough the seams.Contact your local HMT representative todiscuss the full suite of products and servicesthat will satisfy all your AST needs.

The ALUMINATOR FC's UniqueDesign Features Include theFollowing:• Fully welded construction with no fieldbolted seams. Qualifies as a welded roofunder API 19.2 definitions.• The assembled structure meets or exceedsthe design requirements of API 650Appendix H.• 100% aluminum construction. Materials incompliance with API 650 Appendix H.• Full contact design increases safety againstvapor ignition by external sources.• Fully factory trained welding personneland specialized equipment are providedto perform the field welding foreach installation.• Utilized with an HMT Geodesic Dome Roof, the ALUMINATOR FC provides maximumvapor loss control coupled with addedstorage capacity.• Materials are compatible with a wide rangeof stored products.• Employs a unique panel design. Each panelmodule is fully factory tested for vaportightness and can be individually fieldinspected for vapors.• No messy or dangerous filler material.• No deck support penetrations whetherinstalled as a cable or leg supported roof. This reduces the deck fitting losses to lowerlevels than welded steel roofs.• Strong enough to support all seal systems, including metallic shoe primary seals andsecondary seals.• Light weight structure with exceptionalstrength through proprietary constructiontechniques.4/09HMT Inc.24 Waterway Avenue, Suite 400The Woodlands, Texas 77380Ph: +1.281.681.7000Fax: +1.281.419.7689Locations worldwide to serviceall your AST needs.Visit us at www.hmttank.comALUMINATOR is a trademark of HMT Inc.
