Standard Technical Features of BTG System for Supercritical 660/800 MW Thermal UnitsCHAPTER 66.1 TypeSTEAM GENERATOR6.1.1 The Steam Generator shall be of single pass (Tower type) or two pass typeusing either spiral wall (inclined) or vertical plain/ rifled type waterwalltubing.6.1.2 The Steam Generator shall be direct pulverized coal fired, top supported,single reheat, radiant, dry bottom, with balance draft furnace and shall besuitable for outdoor installation. The evaporator of Steam Generator shall besuitable for variable pressure operation from sub-critical to supercriticalpressure range.6.1.3 The plants based on indigenous coal may be required to use some proportionof imported coal also. As such, steam generator shall be appropriatelydesigned so that it is suitable for indigenous coal and blended coal withimported coal upto 30% on weight basis.6.2 Rating of Steam GeneratorThe Steam Generator shall be designed to cater to duty requirements/rating asspecified below:i) Steam flow at superheateroutlet at boiler maximumcontinuous rating(BMCR)ii) Steam temperature:a) At superheater outletb) At reheater outletiii) Steam pressure atsuperheater outlet1.02 times the steam flow at turbineVWO condition plus continuous auxiliarysteam requirement of unit at TMCR,rounded to next integer divisible by 5.To correspond to HP turbine inlettemperature of minimum 565 0 C[indicative value: minimum 568 0 C].To correspond to IP turbine inlettemperature of minimum 593 0 C[indicative value: minimum 596 0 C].To correspond to turbine throttle steampressure of minimum 247 kg/cm 2 (abs)[indicative value: minimum 256 kg/cm 2 (abs)].287.5±2.5 o C [or as per optimisation byTG supplier].50% TMCR to 100% BMCR.iv) Feed water temperature ateconomizer inletv) Steam generator controlrangeNotes:a) Pressure drop in reheat steam circuit (cold reheat, hot reheat line &reheater) should not exceed 10% of HP turbine exhaust pressure underall operating conditions including 100% BMCR condition.b) The steam temperatures at superheater and reheater outlet(s) shall beguaranteed to be maintained at +5 0 C of the rated value under alloperating conditions within the control range.24
