The data shall be saved online on hard disk andautomatically transferred to erasable & removable type disk/ driveonce in every 24 hours periodically for long term storage. Thecapacity of removable disk/ drive shall be sufficient to store at leastone month data. The data to be stored in the above system shall include alarm andevent list, periodic plant data, selected logs/reports such as eventactivated logs, sequence event log, trip analysis log, start-up log etc.The system shall provide operator function to retrieve the data fromhistorical storage. The operator shall be able to retrieve the selecteddata on either colour TFT or printer and suitable index files/directories shall be provided to facilitate the same.17.2.8 System programming, maintenance and documentation facilityThe programmer stations shall be provided for on-line configuration & tuningof control system and on-line program development/ modifications inMMIPIS. In addition, latest state of the art work-station based systemdocumentation facility shall be provided to retrieve, generate & document allsystem documentation, logics, control loops, cable interconnection, etc. toachieve paperless documentation for the complete plant.i) Control System Structuring/ Configuration/ Tuning Facilitiesa) Structuring, configuring and tuning facilities shall be provided forstructuring, modification, storing, loading, testing, tuning, monitoring, etc. of all the microprocessor based controllers of thecontrol system. The configuration and tuning unit shall be hookedup with the system bus. In case different hardware is employed fordifferent parts of control systems and it is not possible to providestructuring/ configuration and tuning of these from the samestation, necessary number of stations shall be provided for thepurpose.b) It shall be possible to configure the system with ease without anyspecial knowledge of programming or high level languages.Control strategy shall be implemented using familiar andconventional automation function blocks (software implemented).c) On-line tuning of the control loops shall be possible withoutcausing any disturbance in the execution of the control loops.Provision to store and retrieve on immediate and long term basisthe system configuration, data base etc. on a storage device shallbe included. Facility shall be provided to reload/down-load thesystem or controller module from the already stored data, on-line.158
