<strong>Standard</strong> <strong>Technical</strong> <strong>Features</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>BTG</strong> <strong>System</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Supercritical</strong> <strong>660</strong>/800 MW Thermal Units17.2.7 Man-machine interface and plant in<strong>for</strong>mation system (MMIPIS)requirementsi) Generala) MMIPIS shall be used primarily to act as operator interface <strong>for</strong>control operation <strong>of</strong> the plant and to per<strong>for</strong>m plant supervisory,monitoring and in<strong>for</strong>mation functions.b) MMIPIS shall employ high-per<strong>for</strong>mance, non-proprietaryarchitecture to ensure fast access and response time andcompatibility with other system.c) The plant data pertaining to one unit shall be available in theMMIPIS <strong>of</strong> the respective unit. Data from common system shall beavailable in the MMIPIS <strong>of</strong> all the units.ii)Operator Interface to the Control <strong>System</strong>a) The operator interface <strong>of</strong> the MMIPIS shall consist <strong>of</strong> colour TFTs/KBDs <strong>of</strong> OWS, colour ink-jet printers, colour plotter etc. EachOWS shall include one TFT, one keyboard and touch screen ormouse <strong>for</strong> ease <strong>of</strong> operation.b) The following features shall be provided as a minimum:1. All OWS <strong>of</strong> the MMIPIS shall be fully interchangeable i.e. alloperator functions including control, monitoring and operation<strong>of</strong> any plant area on drive shall be possible from any <strong>of</strong> theOWS at any point <strong>of</strong> time without the necessity <strong>of</strong> any actionlike downloading <strong>of</strong> additional files. Each OWS shall be able toaccess all control in<strong>for</strong>mation related data under all operatingconditions including a single processor/computer failure in theMMIPIS.2. No single failure in MMIPIS shall lead to non availability <strong>of</strong>more than one OWS and two printers. In such an event i.e.,single failure leading to non availability <strong>of</strong> any OWS, it shall bepossible to operate the entire plant under all regimes <strong>of</strong>operation including emergency conditions from each <strong>of</strong> theother available OWS.3. All frequently called important functions including majorcontrol loop display shall be assigned to dedicated functionkeys <strong>of</strong> the keyboard <strong>for</strong> the convenience <strong>of</strong> the operator.c) The operator functions <strong>for</strong> control on each OWS shall as a minimuminclude control system operation, alarm acknowledge, call controldisplays, demand/printout <strong>of</strong> various displays, logs, summaries etc.155
