<strong>Standard</strong> <strong>Technical</strong> <strong>Features</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>BTG</strong> <strong>System</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Supercritical</strong> <strong>660</strong>/800 MW Thermal Units2. Canceling the operation <strong>of</strong> any soot blower in the system whenrequired.3. Indication <strong>of</strong> the soot blower-selected to operate.4. Capability to monitor all the essentials <strong>of</strong> the soot blowingsystem.5. Capability to prevent continued soot blower operation if thesystem is not functioning properly.6. The ability to operate two soot blowers located in opposite wallssimultaneously.7. Manual over-riding <strong>of</strong> the automatic operations.8. To prevent automatic blowing when the parameters <strong>of</strong> sootblowing system are beyond permissible limits.9. Indications <strong>of</strong> soot blower which has malfunctioned.10. Control circuit <strong>for</strong> the retractable blowers shall be so designed asto prevent insertion <strong>of</strong> the blowers into the combustion chamberunless the blowing medium is available.b) Soot blower control system shall also provide <strong>for</strong> control <strong>of</strong> blowingsteam pressure, steam temperature (if required) and warm up <strong>of</strong> thecomplete piping system.vi)TG C&ITurbine Protection <strong>System</strong> (TPS)Fully proven microprocessor based system, based on hardware ands<strong>of</strong>tware proven <strong>for</strong> turbine protection application <strong>for</strong> the same turbine asbeing <strong>of</strong>fered, shall be provided to achieve the turbine protection action.The turbine protection system shall be as per requirements indicatedbelow or can be implemented as part <strong>of</strong> standard and proven practice <strong>of</strong>the turbine manufacturer:a) The Turbine Protection <strong>System</strong> shall meet all applicable safetystandards/requirements including those stipulated in latest edition <strong>of</strong>IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 or VDE 0116 Section 8.7, VDE 0160 etc.The system design shall be such that safety function <strong>of</strong> the totalsystem must not be jeopardized on occurrence <strong>of</strong> fault. Any singlefault in either primary sensor, input/output modules, controllermodule etc. shall in no way jeopardise the safety <strong>of</strong> the turbine. Allmodules to be used in this system shall be <strong>of</strong> fail safe design.150
