Facility to delete any binary input from scan or to return to scanon operator demand.iii)Triple Measurement Schemea) Triple measurement scheme <strong>for</strong> analog inputs employing threeindependent transmitters connected to separate tapping points shallbe employed <strong>for</strong> the most critical measurements used in analogcontrol functions including but not limited to furnace draft, feedwater flow, turbine throttle pressure, turbine first stage pressure,deaerator level, turbine speed.b) Individual transmitter signal, their status and selected value <strong>for</strong>control/measurement shall be available on OWS.iv)Dual Measurement Schemea) Dual measurement scheme <strong>for</strong> analog inputs employing twoindependent transmitters, connected to separate tapping points/temperature element shall be employed <strong>for</strong> the remainingmeasurements used <strong>for</strong> analog control functions.b) Individual transmitter signal, their status and selected value <strong>for</strong>control/measurement shall be available on OWS.v) For binary and analog inputs required in furnace and turbine protection,triple sensing devices shall be provided. Binary and analog inputs whichare required <strong>for</strong> protection <strong>of</strong> more than one equipment (e.g. deareatorlevel very low etc.) as well as protection signals <strong>for</strong> turbine driven boilerfeed pump (TDBFP)/ motor driven boiler feed pump (MDBFP), triplesensing devices shall be provided. For other critical binary and analoginputs required <strong>for</strong> protection and interlock purpose <strong>of</strong> other equipment(e.g. those interlocks which may result in loss <strong>of</strong> generation, nonavailability<strong>of</strong> a major equipment etc.), dual sensors shall be provided.However, <strong>for</strong> bearing temperature <strong>of</strong> FD/ID/PA fans, mills, APH, BFP,CEP and their HT drives, single sensor can be used.17.2.3 Functional grouping <strong>of</strong> controllersi) Functional grouping <strong>of</strong> various controllers shall meet following generalrequirements:a) Process redundancies shall be maintained. For example, in case themechanical equipment has been provided with redundancy, thedrive shall not be controlled by a common controller and it shall beensured that there is no sharing <strong>of</strong> controller components betweenindependent groups.141
