Standard Technical Features of BTG System for Supercritical 660/800 MW Thermal Unitsiii) Adjustable steady state speed regulation shall be provided between3% to 8% of rated speed.iv)Dead band at rated speed and at any power output within rated outputshall not exceed 0.06% of rated speed.12.12 Turbine Protective Devices12.12.1 Emergency governori) A separately actuated over speed device called emergency governorshall be provided to trip the Unit at about 110% of rated speed in casespeed governor fails to limit the turbine overspeed.ii)iii)The emergency governor resetting shall be as per manufacturer'sstandard practice. However, it shall meet the IEC-45 requirements foroverspeed trip.Means for testing the operation of emergency governor shall beprovided to test operation when the machine is on load withoutexceeding the rated speed of the unit.12.12.2 Emergency hand trip deviceTurbine shall be provided with an emergency hand trip device to facilitatemanual tripping of the unit from local along-with facility to trip turbine fromunit control room.12.12.3 Other protective devicesOther turbine protection devices including vacuum trip device, thrust bearingtrip device shall be provided as per standard practices of the manufacturer.12.13 Unloading Devices12.13.1 Low vacuum unloading deviceA low vacuum unloading device shall be provided (if applicable, based onstandard proven practice of the OEM for the unit size in consideration),which shall ensure progressive decrease of steam flow to turbine below apreset value of condenser vacuum, thus restoring the condenser vacuum.12.13.2 Vacuum breakerA D.C. operated device shall be provided for rapid reduction of vacuum incondenser for turbine rotor to be brought to rest as quickly as possible.95

Standard Technical Features of BTG System for Supercritical 660/800 MW Thermal Units12.14 Turbine Lubrication Oil SystemA self contained lubrication oil system shall be provided for each TG Unitconsisting of:i) Centrifugal/ gear type, main oil pump (MOP) directly driven by turbineshaft or by an AC motor as per manufacturer’s standard practice withcapacity to cater lube oil for bearings & emergency seal oilrequirement. In addition to above, minimum 1x100% AC Aux. oilpump shall be provided for start up, shut down of TG unit and asstandby to MOP for automatic operation catering for requirement oflubricating oil, jacking oil & turning gear oil.ii)iii)iv)One DC motor driven emergency oil pump with sufficient capacity formeeting lubricating oil requirement of bearings during emergency.1x100% capacity each AC & DC jacking oil pumps.Unit lube oil tank of SS with capacity to allow 5 to 8 oil changes perhour (at normal operating level), fitted with non-corrodable strainer and2x100% duty vapour extraction fans driven by explosion proof motors.v) 2x100% DM water cooled lub oil coolers of tube & shell type designedas per TEMA or plate type designed as per relevant codes. The coolersshall be provided with 15% excess heat transfer surface area and withoil pressure greater than water pressure.vi)Piping and all other components of the system coming in contact withoil shall be of stainless steel.12.15 Turbine Lubricating Oil Purification SystemEach T.G. unit shall be provided with a permanently connected, continuousoil purification system comprising of following major equipment:i) Oil purification system shall be of either centrifuge type or coalescingtype as per proven standard design of OEM and shall have the capacityto purify 20% of total oil charge in system per hour. The purified oilshall have maximum particle size conforming to code 15/12 as per ISO4406 and moisture content not more than 500 ppm or as perrequirement of the turbine manufacturer which ever is more stringent. The above purity shall be achievable with particle size and moisturecontent of inlet oil conforming to code 21/18 as per ISO 4406 and15000 ppm respectively in one pass.ii)Carbon steel anti-flood tank, applicable for centrifuge type purifier.iii) Positive displacement feed & discharge pumps (if required), eachhaving capacity 10% higher than purifying unit.96
