7. Place 4” Fabric D square on top of one 4” FabricE square, right sides together. Draw a line acrossthe diagonal of the top square (Fig. 9). Sew 1/4”away from each side of the drawn diagonal line(Fig. 9). Cut the two squares apart on the drawndiagonal line (Fig. 10) to make two half-squaretriangles (Fig. 11). Trim blocks to measure 3-1/2”to make two corner blocks. Repeat to make twomore corner units.10. Sew one 3-1/2” x 33-1/2” Fabric F strip to eachside of the runner top. Sew one 3-1/2” x 21-1/2”Fabric F strip to the top and bottom of the runnertop (Fig. 13).8. Sew one corner unit to each end of the3-1/2” x 9-1/2” top border. Repeat with thebottom border to complete the 3-1/2” x 15-1/2”borders.9. Sew one 3-1/2” x 27-1/2” side border to eachside of the center panel. Sew one 3-1/2” x 15-1/2” border to the top and bottom of the centerpanel to make the 15-1/2” x 33-1/2” runner top(Fig. 12).Finishing the Runner Top11. Press your runner and layer it using your favoritemethod. Quilt as desired.12. Sew the four 2-1/2” x 42” Fabric D strips togetherend-to-end with 45º seams to make the binding.Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrongsides together and press.13. Bind as desired.
