Upon receipt of the postage, the item(s) will be returned.SHOW-JAZZ CHOIR/JAZZ BAND FESTIVAL: A printed report reflecting registrations,participation and a partially completed financial report was presented. This programcontinues to show a steady increase in participation. MMS(BRIGHAM/MERZ) to allowMr. Video to tape the 2000 festival and market video tapes to participants. PASSED (3-2) <strong>The</strong>y will be encouraged to zoom for soloists and utilize creative imagination in thevideo process.PIANO FESTIVAL: <strong>The</strong> registration report for this festival was examined. It shows anincrease of 31 participants over the previous year. <strong>The</strong> secretary reported severalschools had missed registering for this year’s festival because of the change in registrationdeadlines. <strong>The</strong>y had not read the provided materials.LARGE GROUP FESTIVAL: <strong>The</strong> secretary reported the work of the IBA Concert BandAffairs Committee’s investigation of a Required <strong>Music</strong> List for Concert Bands. <strong>The</strong>y havedone extensive research and surveying of the band community in <strong>Iowa</strong>. <strong>The</strong>re are somedissidents to the concept but a recommendation for adoption appears to be forthcoming.Jolesch Photography submitted a request for consideration of a photography service tothis program. Facility and format constraints appear to be insurmountable at this time.MARCHING BAND FESTIVAL: <strong>The</strong> report of this festival reflected the effects of therain-outs on the south-side festivals. <strong>The</strong>re were a number of concerns generated bythis situation that will be forwarded to the April meeting for resolution.MMS(DOTSON/MERZ) to approve a one year contract with Mr. Video for supplyingvideo service to this festival. PASSED <strong>The</strong> secretary was directed to include a letterwith the contract requesting continued consideration of zoom lenses, camera panning,microphone location and creative imagination in the taping process.MMS(NUGENT/DOTSON) to develop a “rain-out” policy utilizing the following Thursday
