Students mustimmediately notify the Registration Office that they arewithdrawing by following withdrawal procedures (see page 2).Depending on when this action is taken, a student may beeligible to receive a refund of all or part of their tuition and feecharges. Withdrawal procedures and specific refund dates areavailable in the Registration Office.Return of Title IV (Federal) Financial AidThe federal government mandates that students whowithdraw from all classes may only keep the financial aid theyhave “earned” up to the time of withdrawal. Title IV funds, suchas Pell Grant, SEOG, and Stafford loans, that have beendisbursed to the student in excess of the earned amount must bereturned by the college and/or the student to the federalgovernment. Thus the student could owe financial aid funds tothe college, the government, or both. The amount of federal funds returned will be determinedby the amount of unearned financial aid based on the date ofwithdrawal or last date of attendance. If the date of withdrawal orlast date of attendance is not available or known, the federalrefund will be based on the 50% point of the semester.Course Placement AssessmentsACCUPLACER is administered in the Tutoring and TestingCenter located on the Glen Oaks Concourse.Assessments are available weekdays in the Tutoring and TestingCenter each hour, beginning on the half-hour, Monday-Thursday,8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Fridays 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Please make anappointment by calling (269) 294-4270 or toll free (888) 994-7818ext. 270.Non-Discrimination StatementIt is the policy of Glen Oaks Community College that nodiscriminatory practices based on gender/sex, race, religion, color, age, national origin, disability, height, weight, or anyother status covered by federal, state or local law be allowedin providing instructional opportunities, programs, services, employment or in policies governing student conduct andattendance.
