of cancellation. <strong>The</strong> Insured may at any time cancel this <strong>Policy</strong> and in such event the <strong>Co</strong>mpanyshall allow refund of premium at <strong>Co</strong>mpany’s short period scale of rate only (table given herebelow) provided no claim has occurred up to the date of cancellation.Period On RiskUp to one-monthUp to three monthsUp to six monthsExceeding six monthsRate Of Premium To Be Charged1/4th of the annual rate1/2 of the annual rate3/4th of the annual rateFull annual rate5.8 FREELOOK PERIOD:<strong>The</strong> free look period shall be applicable at the inception of the policy.<strong>The</strong> insured will be allowed a period of at least 15 days from the date of receipt of the policy toreview the terms and conditions of the policy and to return the same if not acceptable.If the insured has not made any claim during the free look period, the insured shall be entitled to:1) A refund of the premium paid less any expenses incurred by the insurer on medicalexamination of the insured persons and the stamp duty charges or;2) where the risk has already commenced and the option of return of the policy is exercised bythe policyholder, a deduction towards the proportionate risk premium for period on cover or;3) Where only a part of the risk has commenced, such proportionate risk premiumcommensurate with the risk covered during such period.5.9 DISCLAIMER OF CLAIM: If<strong>The</strong> TPA / <strong>Co</strong>mpany shall disclaim liability to the Insured for any claimhereunder and if the insured shall not, within 12 calendar months from the date or receipt of thenotice of such disclaimer, notify the TPA / <strong>Co</strong>mpany in writing that he does not accept suchdisclaimer and intends to recover his claim from the <strong>Co</strong>mpany, then the claim shall for allpurposes be deemed to have been abandoned and shall not thereafter be recoverablehereunder.5.10 All medical/surgical treatment under this policy shall have to be taken in <strong>India</strong>.5.11 CUMULATIVE BONUS:<strong>The</strong> Sum Insured under <strong>Policy</strong> shall be increased by 5% at each renewal in respect of each claimfree year of insurance, subject to maximum of 30%. If a claim is made in any particular year; thecumulative bonus accrued may be reduced at the same rate at which it is accrued.13
