THE ADFA EDUCATION AWARDThe Australian <strong>Defence</strong> Force Academy EducationAward is presented annually <strong>to</strong> <strong>Year</strong> 12 <strong>students</strong>in recognition of leadership potential, andacademic and sporting achievements exhibitedduring <strong>Year</strong> <strong>11</strong>. The award comprises of a lap<strong>to</strong>pcomputer and certificate for you, along witha plaque of recognition for your school. It ispresented <strong>to</strong> you on behalf of the Navy, Armyor Air Force if you’re one of the 120 most suitableapplicants who have applied for entry <strong>to</strong> theAustralian <strong>Defence</strong> Force Academy (ADFA).AWARD ELIGIBILITYTo be eligible <strong>to</strong> apply for the award, you mustbe studying <strong>Year</strong> <strong>11</strong> subjects that meet boththe educational qualifications for admission <strong>to</strong> theUniversity of New South Wales (UNSW) and singleservice requirements. You must submit an applicationprior <strong>to</strong> 31 December in the year you complete <strong>Year</strong> <strong>11</strong>.You may apply <strong>to</strong> all three services, however, you will<strong>only</strong> be assessed for the Education Award againstyour first preference. If you are successful, you will<strong>only</strong> receive the award if you are enrolled in <strong>Year</strong> 12at the time of the award presentation and you meetthe age requirements for ADFA entry.ASSESSMENTThe application process comprises of the ADFAentry aptitude test, medical testing and a seriesof interviews including an Officer Selection Board(OSB).
