battling it out and again the Metro. boys came through<br />
with a solid win due to a nine goal burst of football that<br />
their country cousins could not recover from.<br />
With Western Australia finding their feet and securing<br />
a win over the crow eaters, Vic. Metro found<br />
themselves in the box seat because as the only<br />
undefeated side, they only had to have a win over the<br />
South Australians in the final game to take out the title.<br />
This they did by 23 points and again proved that whilst<br />
not the most fancied side this year, nothing can replace<br />
strong team play, a solid work ethic and careful<br />
planning, all strengths of this years worthy champions.<br />
The win marks Victorian Metro’s seventh win in the<br />
past ten years which clearly establishes the dominance<br />
of football development in metropolitan Victoria and is<br />
something that all coaches of under age footballers can<br />
take pride in.<br />
It is back to normal programs next week and the<br />
<strong>Eastern</strong> Ranges will take on the Western Jets at Box<br />
Hill City Oval on Saturday in an early start at 11:00am.<br />
<strong>Eastern</strong>’s last game was a bad loss which saw them slip<br />
from the all important top four and lose significant<br />
percentage so this game, against a bottom side, is a<br />
must win.<br />
