CLUB NOTES
BORONIA
Last week V Scoresby was a poor result for the club
with only the Reserves recording a win. After a
sensational day against Montrose the Seniors came
crashing back to Earth with a 111pt loss, clearly our
worst for the year. Our few better players included
Tristan, Apples & Patty. Lets make amends today
against Doncaster. As mentioned earlier the Reserves
had a resounding win thanks largely to a 9 goal last qtr.
Macca was great up forward booting 5 while Snagga
& Hoju provided plenty of run. In the Colts, the boys
came up against a very good side and went down by 5
goals. Best were Murphy, Smith & Grice. The boys
have a rest today as we freshen up for the run home to
finals. SOCIAL: Thanks to Flash & the Senior
leadership group for running the Cocktail night last
Sat. 200 reverse draw Sun Aug 14. See Mark Church
for tickets. FINALS: The club has been allocated 3rd
Div.
DONCASTER
Reserves were back to their old habits against North
Ringwood with a promising first half but
disappointing in the third quarter, all players should be
getting the most out of the remaining games. Best –
Dotty, Brocko and Brett Mehan. Seniors finally got
back on the winners list with an all the way win at
home. We must continue now to apply pressure
against those above us. Best – O, Mugga & Chute (aka
Mangos). Today is a must win against Boronia for our
season to remain alive. Next Social function is tonight
the Formal Night – please see Mugga. Reverse Raffle
was a huge success again, well done to Al Smith and
his helpers, congratulations to Harpo who could spend
some of his winnings on lingerie to make sure no one
wear’s Grandma Undies again !! Please get raffle
books back to Billy Jackson ASAP. Bizzy Bee –
interest is mounting on outstanding Bill.
KNOX
SENIORS: Knox played Norwood at home with a lot
riding on the result, as Knox needs to win to maintain
its position. The first quarter was a good start for Knox
however we allowed Norwood to get within 7 points.
At half time Norwood kicked seven goals to one by
Knox to lead by five goals. In the second half
Norwood increased their lead by two goals to win by
seven goals. We need to get back to our running game
and ensure that we keep the pressure up this week

Second Division
against Rowville. The BETTER PLAYERS Wynd
Langford J Smith. GOALKICKERS: Wynd 4, B
Smith 3. RESERVES:- Knox went down to Norwood
by 48 points we are short of players due to injuries and
reduction in numbers being now available and without
that experience we are not able to keep up with the
opposition teams at the current time. We need to
reqroup this week and start our improvement against
Rowville. Colts : The colts played a very determined
Norwood who got to within 36 points due to our
inaccurate kicking to kick 10 Goals 15 points to
Norwood six Goals 3 points. This week is a new
challenge and we need to continue our good form into
the finals We need more support from our club
supporters this week so that we can defeat Rowville
and continue to improve our performances over the

MONTROSE
The Colts put in a good four quarter effort against a
quality side. Never gave in and had a go all day. Keep
up the hard work boys a win is not far away. Best: J
Weatherley, A Ewart, T Bailey,S Black. The Reserves
bounced back with a hard fought win and will need to
be on our game against 3rd placed Mulgrave. Great to
see Ralphy get through his first game in over 12
months. Best: N Scott, C Williams, M Hayhurst.
Seniors were beaten for the 1st time in quite a while at
home. Ringwood outclassed us with a 7 goal first
quarter as we struggled to kick 7 for the match. We are
now back with the pack and a win at Mulgrave is a
must. Best: M Wright, B Leversha, C Rogers
Congratulations to Ryhs Davies on 50 games last
week.SOCIAL: Dont forget to drop your bottle of
wine off for the Wine raffle to be drawn 24/07. Ladies
Luncheon to be held on the 6th August when we play
Scoresby. It was remiss of me not to mention a Thank

our Mid Year/Auction Night particularly the Montrose

NORTH RINGWOOD
Today we take on Norwood in the derby for the Bob
Ward Accident Repair Centre Cup and also Jason
'Wally' Graham plays his 200th game for the club. NO
