CLUB NOTES
BLACKBURN
Last week's match started with Mitcham getting out to
a 3 goal lead early in the first Qtr. We were very
reactive to the way Mitcham were playing and clearly
being led to the ball on most occasions. Our possession
count was well down at _ time and we knew we needed
to be first at the ball more often in the second qtr. This
we did better in the 2nd qtr and we worked our way
back into the contest trailing by 8 points at _ time. In
the third term we only entered our 45 on 5 occasions
and once again were being led to the ball all too often
by the opposition. They kicked 4 goals to our 1 for the
term. Trailing by 31 points at _ time we needed a lift
and it came with us scoring the first goal of the final qtr
but Mitcham settled and kicked the next 4. The final
score was Mitcham 13.13 to Blackburn 7. 7 Better
players in what was a poor performance. C.Logan,
B.Frost, P.Molan. This week there is a Cocktail Hour
for the ladies straight after the game. Low entry price
and low drinks prices. The Collingwood Lions game
will be on the big screen so stick around to see if the
Pies stay hot. The Berzerk Night is on in two weeks.

CROYDON
We never make excuses for defeats but last week it was
sure hard playing against the vastly improved Donvale
club with almost an entire side out due to illness and
injury. Thanks to the seven members of the colts team
that took up the challenge and played with the seniors
and reserves. Today is another day and what a challenge
it is going to be against top of the table Vermont.
************* Tonight at Bram Leigh Receptions the
club is holding its annual ball; Tickets are $75 each, this
includes three course meal, beer, wine, soft drinks and
a great band. If by chance you have not booked your
ticket, we can still fit you in. Make your arrangements
with Alison Church at the ground today.

DONVALE
Seniors - A great team effort last week against Croydon.
The first term was fairly even with both backlines
holding firm. Our second quarter was outstanding with
continuous pressure resulting in 7 goals to nil. In soft

conditions the game was over at half time. It was a
struggle for the whole second half but glad to come
away with a strong victory. Best Players - Wade,
O'Donnell, Casey, MacKay. Reserves - Tim Downie's
200th game gave our two's plenty of incentive to put in
a spirited performance. From the first bounce our
commitment couldn't be questioned. A comfortable win
leaves us just half a game outside the four. Best Players
- Fratto, Havlin, Downie Good to see a large contingent
of Supporters there last week & look to see them all in
attendance at Blackburn. Never an easy game at Morton
Park so we'll have to be at our best. Social - Last chance

EAST BURWOOD
Three important wins last week for the club against
Wantirna South.The Colts put in another four quarter
peformance Best R.Kerr D.Crawford D.Cox.The
Reserves a good win many players continue to impress
for a senior birth. Best W.Cripps C.Ratcliffe
R.Dahl.The Seniors had a very good win set up in the
first half.Best Waide Van Rossum Sziller.Today is the
Angels members luncheon welcome to all the ladies
have a great day.Big game against Mitcham today lets

EAST RINGWOOD
The Colts put in a very commendable performance
against a talented opponent in Vermont. The boys
never gave up and came within 2 goals of victory. They
will be looking forward to returning to the winning list
this weekend. The Reserves came from well behind to
score a fantastic win against Vermont and the boys
should be congratulated on a very even team
performance. This win will give the side a great boost
in confidence for the coming weeks The seniors were
very disappointing and clearly outclassed by the flag
favourites. A win this week is a must to keep our finals
hopes alive and the boys will be determined to come
home with a win. Don't forget the Christmas in July
auction tonight at the Maroondah Sports Club.
