<strong>XR1045</strong>Operator CabRear Axle Centering IndicatorThe rear axle centering indicator illuminates when the rearwheels are aligned perpendicular to the rear axle. The rearwheels must be aligned perpendicular to axle in order tochange the Steering Select switch.If the rear axle centering indicator does not illuminate,stop the forklift, follow proper shut down procedures,tag the forklift with “Do Not Operate” tags, and have aqualified mechanic service or repair the forklift beforeplacing it into service again.Declutch IndicatorThe declutch indicator illuminates when the Declutchswitch is set to the ON position.If the declutch indicator does not illuminate, stop theforklift, follow proper shut down procedures, tag theforklift with “Do Not Operate” tags, and have a qualifiedmechanic service or repair the forklift before placing itinto service again.Figure 6-30. Rear Axle Centering Indicator.Steering Select and 2-Wheel Rear Switches WarningDO NOT change steering modes until the forklift slowsor comes to a complete stop. Align all four (4) wheelsperpendicular to the axle, before changing steeringmode. Changing steering modes at higher travelspeeds can make the forklift unstable, and cause a lossof control, which could result in death, serious injury,or property damage.Figure 6-32. Declutch Indicator.Declutch SwitchThe Declutch switch (in conjunction with the servicebrake) disengages the transmission to prevent the forkliftfrom moving while raising or lowering a load.• When the Declutch switch is set to ON and the servicebrake applied, the transmission is disengaged.• When the Declutch switch is set to OFF, the transmissionremains engaged when the travel select lever is set toeither FORWARD or REVERSE.The Steering Select switch has three (3) steeringpositions: Crab, Two Wheel Steering (2W), and FourWheel Steering (4W).
