<strong>XR1045</strong>Safety WarningWear appropriate protective clothing. Personalprotective equipment can include, but is not limited tohardhat, gloves, footwear, safety glasses or goggles,and hearing protection. Make sure clothing is snugand properly belted. DO NOT wear loose clothing,jewelry, watches, or anything that can catch on forkliftcontrols, moving parts, etc. Failure to wear the properprotective clothing could result in death or seriousinjury.Before Starting Forklift WarningKeep the <strong>Operation</strong> and Safety <strong>Manual</strong> onthe forklift at all times. Contact <strong>Xtreme</strong><strong>Manufacturing</strong> for replacement manuals.Clearly define responsibilities andprocedures for operating the forklift andall attachments. DO NOT proceed untilyou seek expert assistance from a qualifiedperson if any doubt or question arises about thecorrect or safe methods for operating the forklift.To avoid death or seriousinjury, carefully read andunderstand all instructionsbefore operating theforklift. DO NOT operate, modify, repair, or maintainthe forklift unless you read and understand theinstructions and warnings in this and all otherapplicable manuals and technical publications. Followall State and Federal health and safety laws and/orlocal regulations.Consult Material SafetyData Sheets (MSDS) forchemical hazards and first aidinstructions. MSDS shouldbe available from the manufacturer or supplier ofthe fluid. WarningPerform a pre-operation inspection andfunctional tests at the beginning of eachwork shift. Perform the pre-operationinspection first. DO NOT perform thepre-operation inspection with the engine running orhot. Contact with moving or heated parts could causedeath or serious injury.Perform the pre-operation inspectionand functional tests in an open area.Inspections and functional tests mayrequire assistance. Keep the assistantvisible and a safe distance from the forklift to preventdeath or serious injury.Become familiar with all safety andhazard labels, regulations, andprocedures. Make sure all proper safetyand hazard labels are attached to theforklift and remain legible.A brief description of controls, indicators,and instruments is provided as aconvenience for the operator. Thesedescriptions DO NOT provide completeoperation instructions. Read and understand theentire manual to prevent death, serious injury, orequipment damage.Keep fingers and feet awayfrom moving parts or pinchpoints to prevent pinchingor crushing. DO NOT allowanyone between the tires and the forklift frame whileoperating the forklift. Doing so can result in death orserious injury.Always check the condition of the seatbelt and mounting hardware beforeoperating the forklift. If the seat belt ormounting hardware is defective, it maynot properly restrain the operator, resulting in deathor serious injury.• DO NOT operate the forklift until the seat belt ormounting hardware is replaced, if worn or damaged.• The seat belt MUST be worn while operating theforklift.
