This links with M2 and the twopieces of evidence could be presented together.D2 requires an in-depth piece of writing to explain the importance of homeostasis inmaintaining the healthy functioning of the body. This could include examples of whenhomeostatic mechanisms do not function efficiently, and the resulting symptoms. Adetailed and accurate account is required.For successful achievement of the units within this programme, and the programmeas a whole, it is essential that learners understand the terminology of assessment. Itis suggested therefore that delivery time is allocated to this early on. For example,learners need to understand the precise nature and meaning of terms such asdescribe, explain, analyse and evaluate.
