UNIT 22: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL CAREUnit 22:Research Methodology for Healthand Social CareNQF Level 3:Guided learning hours: 90BTEC NationalUnit abstractMuch of the work in health and social care is grounded in evidence-based practiceand practitioners need to ensure that they can show that the work they do iseffective. Potential practitioners therefore need to have a clear understanding ofresearch methodology in order to carry out their own research in a potential varietyof settings. For those learners who wish to progress further in their learning this unitwill provide a good basis for future work at a higher level.This unit will enable learners to extend knowledge gained in Unit 6: Personal andProfessional Development in Health and Social Care, and develop further theirunderstanding of the methodology necessary to carry out basic research. They willthen be able to conduct and complete a research project in a relevant topic ofinterest to them.
