UNIT 18: WORKING IN THE HEALTH SECTORUnit 18:Working in the Health SectorNQF Level 3:Guided learning hours: 60BTEC NationalsUnit abstractThe aim of this unit is to provide learners with the opportunity to explore working inthe health sector, including the current organisation and administration of healthcare. It will enable learners to examine and reflect on aspects of health careprovision, in their potential preparation for a career in the sector.Initially, learners will explore careers in the health sector, and the requirements ofthese in terms of not only training/qualifications, but also personal attributes.Learners will explore the structure of health services provision, including NationalService Frameworks, and then go on to consider roles and responsibilities, includingworkforce development. The roles of a number of key overarching organisations willbe examined, as will policy and legislation.
