UNIT 9: VALUES AND PLANNING IN SOCIAL CAREKey skillsAchievement of key skills is not a requirement of this qualification but it isencouraged. Suggestions of opportunities for the generation of Level 3 key skillevidence are given here. Tutors should check that learners have produced all theevidence required by part B of the key skills specifications when assessing thisevidence. Learners may need to develop additional evidence elsewhere to fully meetthe requirements of the key skills specifications.Communication Level 3When learners:• describe the values thatunderpin social care practice• describe ethical principles inrelation to social care• use examples to explain howmulti-disciplinary and interagencyworking can improvethe care planning process• evaluate the effectiveness ofcurrent legislation inpromoting care planning andmulti-disciplinary/interagencyworking.They should be able to develop the followingkey skills evidence:C3.1aC3.1bTake part in a group discussion.Make a formal presentation of at leasteight minutes using an image or othersupport material.C3.2 Read and synthesise information from atleast two documents about the samesubject.Each document must be a minimum of1000 words long.C3.3 Write two different types of documents,each one giving different informationabout complex subjects.
