The value of psychological studies to the understanding ofhealth and social care will be examined.Learners will initially consider the meaning of the term ‘theories’ in the context ofpsychology, and will begin to appreciate the diversity of psychological theories asthey progress through the unit. They will examine the principal psychologicalperspectives and then apply these to the health and social care sectors in order togain understanding of the potential value of psychology in these sectors.On completion of this unit learners will have been introduced to the psychologicalapproach to health and social care studies.
