IT’S EASY.When your child’s in high school, it’s critical that you be aware <strong>of</strong> what’s going on at school.Getting that information from your child is almost impossible! APTO is a great way to createthat home/school connection. While your involvement may not be in the classroom, orchaperoning a field trip, we still need you to keep the ARHS community informed, strong <strong>and</strong>safe, <strong>and</strong> provide parental support.The high school years will shape your child’s future, so please make a difference <strong>and</strong> getinvolved! It takes parents to keep APTO going! We’re always looking for new ideas,suggestions <strong>and</strong> new faces. Make one meeting, come every month or simply support theAPTO financially. However you choose to become involved you’re always welcome!As member <strong>of</strong> the APTO you’ll get the monthly APTO newsletter sent directly to yourpersonal email to keep you up-to-date on what’s happening in the school. You’ll also be thefirst to know about any events/programs we’re sponsoring or organizing <strong>and</strong> receive monthlyAPTO meeting reminders. Plus, your child will be eligible to apply for an APTO scholarship asa graduating senior.What Do We Do. IT’S IMPORTANT.< Support ARHS programs such as DECA, SAAD, <strong>and</strong> assist teacher lead initiatives.< Organize/sponsor guest speakers on various topics for the ARHS community.< Produce <strong>and</strong> distribute the monthly APTO newsletter. The Newsletter, containsimportant information from the ARHS faculty <strong>and</strong> administration as well as from manyAlgonquin organizations, clubs, class representatives <strong>and</strong> sports/coaches.< Support Junior Post-Prom Party: a safe, chaperoned, substance-free, all-night postpromevent for ARHS Juniors, regardless <strong>of</strong> prom attendance.< Coordinate hospitality programs for both students <strong>and</strong> teachers, including theteacher/staff appreciation breakfast <strong>and</strong> luncheon.< Coordinate parent & student volunteers to support ARHS <strong>and</strong> APTO sponsored events.Yes!
