Repetition of CourseOn occasion, a student may be required to repeat a course. Under such circumstances, the highest gradeachieved is counted towards the cumulative GPA.Compliance with University RegulationsThe University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences seeks resolution of all issues through the process ofreason and expects all members of the University community to be governed by this principle. However,should a student, faculty member, staff member, visitor, invited guest or other licensee, acting individually orcollectively, while on University property engage in violence, destruction of property, or any act whichdisrupts or interferes with the functioning of the University, or disturbs the academic processes of theclassroom, and ignore or refuse to comply with official directives to desist, the University shall eject saidviolator from the campus or other University property. In addition, the University may seek to impose suchpenalties as provided by law. Where circumstances require, the University of St. Augustine for HealthSciences may employ injunctive procedures or call upon civil authority to maintain order. University students,faculty, or staff engaged in such acts are subject to immediate suspension and a subsequent hearing, whichmay lead to expulsion or dismissal.Proper ConductStudents are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner, which upholds the integrity oftheir profession and the University.Suspension or DismissalThe University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, through its faculty or appropriate committees,reserves the discretionary right to suspend or dismiss any student from the University for failure tomaintain:• A satisfactory academic record• Acceptable personal and professional behavior.ArbitrationIn the event of a decision to dismiss and/or suspend a student from the University, the student has theright to appeal to the appropriate University committee and to the President of the University. Legalrecourse after these appeals is through binding arbitration conducted by a member of the AmericanArbitration Association and the cost will be shared between the student and the University.STUDENT SERVICESOff-Campus HousingAll University students reside off campus. The Student Services office provides prospective and currentstudents with general information about housing in the St. Augustine, San Marcos and surrounding areas.Information about specific rental properties is maintained in the same office.Veterans’ BenefitsSt. Augustine Campus - The entry-level transitional physical therapy, occupational therapy, Doctor ofHealth Science and Doctor of Education degree programs are approved by the State Approving Office fortraining of veterans and other eligible persons. Questions regarding benefits, enrollment certification, etc.,should be directed to the Certifying Officer in the Student Services Office.25
