8 <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> <strong>2010</strong>-11OurStructureLEADERSHIPBoard of DirectorsThe Board of Directors is formed by recognized leaders of the nut <strong>and</strong>dried fruit industry who volunteer their time <strong>and</strong> expertise on matters thatbenefit the entire industry.Executive CommitteeThe Executive Committee is formed by the Chairman, Vice-Chairman <strong>and</strong>a maximum of eight more members of the Board of Directors includingthe Executive Director, representing the regions of the INC members.SenatorsThe Senators perform exceptional services towards achieving the aimsof the INC <strong>and</strong> participate in Board meetings, sharing knowledge <strong>and</strong>collaborating with the members of the Board.SUB-COMMITTEESScientific <strong>and</strong> Government Affairs CommitteeThis committee deals with issues regarding science <strong>and</strong> research ontechnical issues such as aflatoxins, ochratoxins, pesticides, heavy metals,etc. It monitors technical issues related to governmental regulations,customs, duties, trade barriers, quality st<strong>and</strong>ards, food safety, shipping<strong>and</strong> transportation. Furthermore it monitors the Codex Alimentarius, FAO,WTO, WHO, UNECE, EFSA, DG SANCO, USDA <strong>and</strong> other governmentactivities affecting the nut <strong>and</strong> dried fruit industry.P.R., Membership <strong>and</strong> Ambassador’s CommitteeThis Committee deals with issues related to new members, fees & dues<strong>and</strong> establishes the best relations with all nut <strong>and</strong> dried fruit boards, theofficials of the different countries <strong>and</strong> all industries using nuts <strong>and</strong> driedfruits. Ambassadors are requested to have a proactive attitude in orderto motivate <strong>and</strong> incorporate new members in more countries <strong>and</strong> for allnuts <strong>and</strong> dried fruits.Congress CommitteeFormed by the INC Chairman, the Congress Chairman <strong>and</strong> the ExecutiveDirector, the Congress Committee is in charge of the local selection,assisting the local host, <strong>and</strong> reviewing the budget <strong>and</strong> the sessions ofthe event.Editorial Review <strong>and</strong> Statistics CommitteeChaired by the INC Chairman <strong>and</strong> formed by the Editor <strong>and</strong> the ExecutiveDirector, this committee gives strategic direction to the magazine content,<strong>and</strong> collects <strong>and</strong> evaluates trade statistics about nuts <strong>and</strong> dried fruits’production <strong>and</strong> consumption worldwide.Audit CommitteeInternal Audit Committee formed by INC members not belonging to theExecutive Committee, to further professionalize <strong>and</strong> insure the funds ofthe Foundation.
