Annual Report 2010-113Missionand ObjectivesThe International Nutand Dried Fruit Council(INC) represents andendorses activities thatprovide its membershipwith new opportunitiesfor increasing globalconsumption of almonds,Brazil nuts, cashews,hazelnuts, macadamias,pecans, pine nuts,pistachios, walnuts,peanuts, dates, driedapricots, dried figs,prunes and raisins.The INC’s mission is to be the International source for informationon nuts and dried fruits for:• Health• Nutrition• Worldwide statistics on production, trade and consumption• Food safety• Government standards• Government regulations regarding trade barriers and tradequality standardsObjectives:Increasing understanding about production, processing, marketing,distribution and consumption trends in the nut and dried fruit industry.Increasing market access by monitoring customs duties and tradebarriers and advising governments on behalf of INC membership.Assuring global quality standards and trading terms are within theframework of existing national and international bodies and do notinhibit trade within the industry.Promoting research, especially nutrition, education and new productdevelopment.Promoting international cooperation by interacting with various public,private, national and international organizations, which share ourcommon goals.Increasing goodwill and mutual understanding of the nut and driedfruit industry by promoting international meetings in producing andconsuming countries.Providing a single source of annual statistical information from producingand consuming countries.INC SecretariatINC International Nut and Dried Fruit CouncilCalle Boule 2, 43201 Reus, SpainT +34 977 331 416F +34 977 315 028inc@nutfruit.og · www.nutfruit.org
