It prepares entry-level library media specialists for positionsin both elementary and secondary schools.The program consists of a minimum of 24 credits from the courses shown inthe following list. These are offered through Doña <strong>Ana</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong>and <strong>New</strong> <strong>Mexico</strong> <strong>State</strong> University. All courses are 3 credits unless noted.In <strong>New</strong> <strong>Mexico</strong>, at least 12 credits need to be upper-division courses fora K–12 endorsement. It is recommended that at least one course be takenfrom each area, and the student should consult an advisor. Nursing is a dynamic and exciting discipline offeringnot only the rewarding experiences of helping others achieve theirhealth care goals, but also enabling the nurse to become a part of the rapidlyadvancing health delivery system of the future.Upon completion of all prerequisite courses and acceptance into the nursingprogram, four semesters of study prepare the new graduate for a careeras an entry-level generalist in Licensed Practical Nursing or RegisteredNursing. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN orNCLEX-RN licensure exams and become licensed Practical Nurses or RegisteredNurses anywhere in the United <strong>State</strong>s.
