It prepares entry-level library media specialists for positionsin both elementary and secondary schools.The program consists of a minimum of 24 credits from the courses shown inthe following list. These are offered through Doña <strong>Ana</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong>and <strong>New</strong> <strong>Mexico</strong> <strong>State</strong> University. All courses are 3 credits unless noted.In <strong>New</strong> <strong>Mexico</strong>, at least 12 credits need to be upper-division courses fora K–12 endorsement. It is recommended that at least one course be takenfrom each area, and the student should consult an advisor. Endorsement isapplied for by the student directly to the <strong>State</strong> Department of Education,and granted by the <strong>State</strong>, not <strong>DACC</strong> or NMSU. Out-of-state students shouldcheck with their state for specific requirements.NOTE: All L SC and EMD courses are offered only ONLINE. Other coursesmay be available periodically online.
