Delivery and initial settingsBefore delivery every ADVANCE product hasto be checked by the dealer that the packageis complete and that basic settings are correct.Optional for the EASINESS are:• an adjustable size front container with reservehandle and a reserve Y-connection• LTF approved airbag protectorThe EASINESS harness package contains:• Reversible harness• 2 riser quicklinks• 3 reserve connection straps (attached tothe shoulder straps)• ’Getting started EASINESS’ Booklet

Adjusting the harnessThe EASINESS is simple to adjust because,to a great extent, it adapts itself to fit the pilot’sbody.Info: Load the back pocket beforeyou start adjusting, and fit the reservebefore checking your finalsettings. This will give you somethinglike a realistic flight position.1. Original settingsAll adjusters are completely open at delivery. To save weight the leg straps are notadjustable. Carabiner distance is variable.ADVANCE recommanded that you fly witha carabiner distance of 40 to 42 cm.2. Setting the upper body (recline) angleNow you can adjust your upper body angleusing the back straps. The back strapsare fitted relatively high at the sides; this

gives good back support and takes weightoff the shoulders. After setting the back straps you can adjustthe shoulder straps, so that they arecomfortably relaxed or give light support, but do not put pressure on your shoulders.the two leg rests; when shortened thismakes the EASINESS feel compact andmore stable in flight.4. Final checkRecheck that the shoulder straps give onlylight support.3. Setting the distance between the legrestsFinally you can set the distance between

Rucksack with plenty of featuresAt 43 litres the Rucksack EASINESS is optimizedfor a PI and has plenty of space for alight wing, light reserve and an instrument.Numerous additional details provide evenmore stowage and promote enjoyable Hikingand Flying:• Bungee chords on the back pocket forholding clothes• Helmet holder on top to leave more spacein the rucksack• Stowable fixing straps on the sides• Opening for drinking tube with securingloop on shoulder strap• Wide hip strap with side pockets for perfectstability and hiking comfort• Hand/wrist loops on the shoulder strapsfor comfortable hiking.

Installing the reserveFitting a reserve must be done carefully andcorrectly; your safety depends on it. The adjustable-sizefront container has room forround reserves with volumes of approximately3 to 6 litres. Step by step instructions are explainedin the EASINESS manual. If in doubtdo not hesitate to contact a qualified person.1 Make sure that your reserve volume iswithin the EASINESS front container limits.A very rough volume approximation canbe arrived at from the following formula:reserve weight x 2.7 = volume in litres. But, depending on packing style andquality, a reserve of an acceptable volumeusing this formula may not release properly.A final judgment must always be madeby carrying out a compatibility test of thereserve and front container combination.

2 Connect the supplied reserve connectionand the reserve bridle using a MaillonRapide of 2400 daN minimum safe load.Fix the connections in position on theMaillon using, for example, twisted rubberO rings, so that the loop ends do not slipround the Maillon and side load it during areserve opening.3 Pack the inner container in the front container. There are step by step instructionsin the manual.4 Connecting the reserve to the harness:The EASINESS has two ways of connectingthe reserve to the harness: ADVANCErecommend type a):a) Reserve connection via side channelto the shoulder straps• An inter-looped harness V-connectionruns from the shoulder strap

loops through the harness sidechannel of the reserve.• The first harness item to meet thereserve bridle is the single harnessconnection, to be attached to thebridles by Maillon or inter-looping.Shoulder strap loops and the threeconnection lines are inter-looped,and are already in place on delivery.Info: When a reserve supports theshoulder straps the pilot’s body isautomatically brought into an uprightposition. This makes a parachutelanding fall easier to do upon landing.b) Reserve connection to the main carabinersIn this case you should remove the reserveconnections already installed atthe shoulder straps.

• Hang the two reserve Y-connectorends in the main carabiners beforeevery flight, making sure they cannottouch the carabiner fasteners.• Make sure that all three front containerVelcro loops are fastened onthe chest strap.Caution: Always hang the reserveconnections in the carabiners first– then the paraglider risers. This isto ensure that the reserve connectionsdon’t interfere with the carabinerfasteners.Info: When the reserve is connectedto the carabiners it can be moredifficult to take up an upright attitudefor landing under the reserve. Thiswill have to be done actively.

5 Compatibility testCorrect installation of a reserve in thecontainer must always be checked bycarrying out a test release.
