2013–2014 Biennial Budget <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Tukwila</strong>, WashingtonGoals & AccomplishmentsDEPARTMENT: Fire (11) – Emergency Management DIVISION: 525.600FUND: General FUND NUMBER: 000RESPONSIBLE MANAGER: Chief Nick OlivasPOSITION: Fire ChiefDescriptionThis division establishes a solid foundation for emergency management in <strong>the</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Tukwila</strong>.2011-2012 Accomplishments♦ Began <strong>the</strong> collection and review <strong>of</strong> all Emergency Management Plans in <strong>the</strong> <strong>City</strong> to begin a detailedanalysis <strong>of</strong> “All Hazards” readiness.♦ Conducted one full scale exercise with <strong>City</strong> Incident Management Team.♦ Started <strong>the</strong> re-write/update <strong>of</strong> all <strong>City</strong> emergency management plans.♦ Initiated steps to ensure <strong>the</strong> <strong>City</strong> is NIMS compliant♦ Assessed training levels <strong>of</strong> <strong>City</strong> incident management team members to determine additionaltraining required2013 Program Goals♦ Continue to build relationships with our citizens and business community through <strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong>Emergency Management programs.♦ Reach out to our Community and Business partners by <strong>of</strong>fering CERT and o<strong>the</strong>r EM programs.♦ Provide training opportunities for our Incident Management Team (IMT).♦ Provide at least two CERT classes.♦ Assure <strong>the</strong> city is NIMS compliant.♦ Conduct one full scale exercise with our city Incident Management Team.♦ Apply for EMPG funds.2014 Program Goals♦ Complete <strong>the</strong> analysis <strong>of</strong> our All Hazards readiness status.♦ Complete training <strong>of</strong> all members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> city Incident Management Team♦ Apply for <strong>the</strong> Emergency Management Performance Grant♦ Complete <strong>the</strong> re-write/update <strong>of</strong> all city emergency management “plans”.♦ Assure <strong>the</strong> city is NIMS compliant.♦ Provide two CERT classes.♦ Apply for EMPG funds.Page 213
