In 2004, the National Institute of Statistics conducted a research on activities ofbusiness services for enterprises by collecting data on turnover by type of clients. The researchshowed out that micro companies spent more than half of their budget for business advisoryservices such as fiscal advice, bookkeeping services, business planning and managementservices, while IT services absorb 26% of the expenditure. On the contrary, small and mediumenterprises allocated the largest share of their budget to procure IT services, due to fact thatthese companies tend to have more sophisticated system in place, and to outsource theirmaintenance. The budget allocated to procure other services is negligible compared to the twocategories mentioned above. Micro enterprises used only 5% of their budget for purchasingmarket research and studies, while other companies only allocated for the same services amere 3%. The expenditure for recruitment services is larger for medium enterprises, since theyhave more structured internal organization and they recruit from the market instead of usinginformal channels.48
