In 2004, <strong>the</strong> National Institute <strong>of</strong> Statistics conducted a research on activities <strong>of</strong>business services for enterprises by collecting data on turnover by type <strong>of</strong> clients. The researchshowed out that micro companies spent more than half <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir budget for business advisoryservices such as fiscal advice, bookkeeping services, business planning <strong>and</strong> managementservices, while IT services absorb 26% <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> expenditure. On <strong>the</strong> contrary, small <strong>and</strong> mediumenterprises allocated <strong>the</strong> largest share <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir budget to procure IT services, due to fact that<strong>the</strong>se companies tend to have more sophisticated system in place, <strong>and</strong> to outsource <strong>the</strong>irmaintenance. The budget allocated to procure o<strong>the</strong>r services is negligible compared to <strong>the</strong> twocategories mentioned above. Micro enterprises used only 5% <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir budget for purchasingmarket research <strong>and</strong> studies, while o<strong>the</strong>r companies only allocated for <strong>the</strong> same services amere 3%. The expenditure for recruitment services is larger for medium enterprises, since <strong>the</strong>yhave more structured internal organization <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>y recruit from <strong>the</strong> market instead <strong>of</strong> usinginformal channels.48
