These activities and resp<strong>on</strong>sibilities are defined indocumented procedure MSU/MR/OP/04 – C<strong>on</strong>trol of N<strong>on</strong>c<strong>on</strong>forming Product. Records of the n<strong>on</strong>c<strong>on</strong>formitiesand acti<strong>on</strong>s taken are kept per MSU/MR/OP/02 C<strong>on</strong>trol of Records.N<strong>on</strong>c<strong>on</strong>forming service/product is corrected and subject to re-verificati<strong>on</strong> after correcti<strong>on</strong> to dem<strong>on</strong>stratec<strong>on</strong>formity. When n<strong>on</strong>c<strong>on</strong>forming product is detected after delivery or use has started, <strong>Maseno</strong> <strong>University</strong>takes appropriate acti<strong>on</strong> regarding the c<strong>on</strong>sequences of the n<strong>on</strong>c<strong>on</strong>formity.9.4 Analysis of Data<strong>Maseno</strong> <strong>University</strong> determines, collects and analyzes appropriate data to determine the suitability andeffectiveness of the quality management system and to identify improvements that can be made using thequality objectives and service charter. This includes data generated by m<strong>on</strong>itoring and measurement activitiesand other relevant sources.<strong>Maseno</strong> <strong>University</strong> analyzes this data to provide informati<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong>:a) Customer satisfacti<strong>on</strong> and/or dissatisfacti<strong>on</strong> (secti<strong>on</strong> 8.2.1);b) C<strong>on</strong>formity to service/product requirements (secti<strong>on</strong> 7.2.1);c) Characteristics of trends of processes and service/products including opportunities for preventiveacti<strong>on</strong>, andd) Suppliers.9.5 Improvement9.5.1 C<strong>on</strong>tinual Improvement<strong>Maseno</strong> <strong>University</strong> improves the effectiveness of the quality management system through the use of thequality policy, objectives, audit results, analysis of data, corrective and preventive acti<strong>on</strong> and managementreview.9.5.2 Corrective Acti<strong>on</strong><strong>Maseno</strong> <strong>University</strong> takes corrective acti<strong>on</strong> to avoid and eliminate the cause of n<strong>on</strong>c<strong>on</strong>formities in order toprevent recurrence. Corrective acti<strong>on</strong> is to be appropriate to the impact of the n<strong>on</strong>c<strong>on</strong>formities encountered.The documented procedure for corrective acti<strong>on</strong>, MSU/MR/OP/05 - Corrective & Preventive Acti<strong>on</strong>s, definesrequirements for:a) Reviewing n<strong>on</strong>c<strong>on</strong>formities (including customer complaints);b) Determining the causes of n<strong>on</strong>c<strong>on</strong>formities;c) Evaluating the need for acti<strong>on</strong>s to ensure that n<strong>on</strong>c<strong>on</strong>formities do not recur;d) Determining and implementing the corrective acti<strong>on</strong> needed;e) Recording results of acti<strong>on</strong> taken;f) Reviewing of corrective acti<strong>on</strong> taken.<strong>Maseno</strong> <strong>University</strong>, Private Bag <strong>Maseno</strong>. 28Tel 0722203411
