<strong>2002</strong> • 27Passenger Services SystemsTROYA Reservations and PassengerServices System was enhanced toprovide seat map displays to theGalileo Global Reservation system useragencies.Due to the fact that the fare field oftickets was insufficient toaccommodate <strong>Turkish</strong> lira-based ticketfares, fares had to be denominated inUS dollars for international ticketsissued in Turkey. Accordingly,modifications have been made inTRACES, TROYA and SOS systems toenable issuance and processing oftickets in US dollar currency andtransferring the ticket sales to theCompany’s accounting system in<strong>Turkish</strong> lira terms. This process waslaunched on March 1, <strong>2002</strong>.Passengers can track their lostbaggage over the internet as well asby the WAP enabled cell phones. Cellphones can also be used to queryaircraft departure/landing information.On the <strong>Turkish</strong> <strong>Airlines</strong> bookingwebsite, seat maps for all flights canbe viewed and seat selection can bemade during the reservation.Members of the Miles&Miles SpecialPassenger Program can access theiraccount to check for miles collectedfrom flights and program partnerhotels and miles required for freetickets for the routes they plan totravel via internet. Moreover,Miles&Miles members can nowconduct all transactions available tothem on the internet by using thekiosks installed at the Istanbul andAnkara Airports.
