I wantto offer another choice – anAmerican one – the 2011 CorvetteZR1.Those who think a Corvettedoesn’t meet up to the standardsof European super carsneeds to slip behind the wheelof the ZR1. At first it may drivelike a normal Corvette, but puttingfoot to floor causes a reallaunch of momentum with 638horsepower, 604 pound foot oftorque from under the superlight carbon fiber hood. This isbecause of a well-tuned SuperchargedLS9 6.2-liter V8 with adry sump oil system (found onrace cars). Backed by a closegear ratio dual clutch 6-speedmanual transmission; this iswhat I’m talking about! The car is fast, but whatimpresses me most is howstable the ZR1 is under fullpower. That’s accomplishedby a team of engineers thatare passionate about drivingand perfection. The ZR1 isavailable because of GM’sinvolvement in racing whichcan bring out the best in anymanufacturer. The results ofsuccessful racing careers havegiven drivers the handling anddriving perfection only foundon a race track. The GM engineers haveadded many options to thiscar. Drivers can turn off thetraction control, pick a suspensionsetting and the ride ison. Caution: any high speedmeeting or the borrower has surrenderedthe property to the mortgagee, trustee, beneficiary, or authorized agent and that thecompliance with Civil Code Section 2923.5was made at least thirty (30) days prior to thedate of this Notice of Sale. The mortgagee, trustee, beneficiary, or authorized agentdeclares: it has obtained a final or temporaryorder of exemption and said order is currentand valid as of the date of the Notice andthe time frame set forth in California Civil—MOTORandSPORTS —driving should be confined toa sanctioned race track.Going fast is one thing, butwhat about stopping? Chevywent to Brembo brakes fortheir braking power, 6-pistonup front and 4-piston in therear mounted on cross drilledBrembo ceramic brakes, andthey will stop on a dime. Tiresare from Michelin – Pilot SportPS2 ZP. This car could use afive point seat belt harnesssystem, but really the wellcontoured seats do a fabulousjob of keeping everyone wherethey need to be.The view behind the wheel ispleasing. Everything is laid outfor the driver with all the controlswithin reach and thanksto HUD (Heads Up Display)drivers never have to take theireyes off the road.So how does this monsterdrive when going to dinner?Like a Corvette! In fact, withself-restraint, it’s possible toachieve 14 MPG in the city and20 on the open road. The cardoes require premium fuel.Other features worth mentioninginclude traction control, active handling, ability tochange the suspension tuningwith the turn of a knob on thecenter console, limited slip differential,19-inch tires up frontand 20s in the rear, coolers forthe oil, transmission and axle, aluminum frame and dualmode 4-inch exhaust. The exhausttone is like nothing else, anyone who hears it knowsit’s a ZR1.The ZR1 is full of safety features, and it has keyless entryand push button start.
