History (cont.)• March - April 2002 - during a site inspectionTCEQ collected samples from 43 drinkingsupply wells and found concentrations ofPCE in ground water samples in some wells,with the highest concentration of 128 ppb• April 16, 2002 - VCP agreement is ended.• September 29, 2003 – Site added to theNPL List

Legacy of the Site• HB 1366 - Signed June 20, 2003, to createthe Dry Cleaning Remediation Fund for statelead cleanup• HB 3030 HB 3030 resulted in new Texas Water Code(TWC) §26.408 and placed newrequirements on the TCEQ to provide mailednotice to the owner of a private water wellwhen the well owner is potentially affectedby groundwater contamination
